The editorial governance of Scifood is designed to ensure transparency, scientific quality, accountability, and full editorial independence.
The journal is led by the Editor-in-Chief, who is responsible for coordinating the editorial workflow, developing the journal’s scope and strategy, supervising the peer-review process, and implementing publishing ethics and integrity standards. The Editor-in-Chief ensures that all manuscripts are handled in accordance with the journal’s policies and established editorial procedures.
The Editor-in-Chief is supported by the Deputy Editor-in-Chief, who assists in coordinating editorial activities and maintaining continuity of the journal’s operations.
Editors are responsible for the structured handling of manuscripts, including initial scope assessment, coordination of peer review, evaluation of reviewer reports, and preparation of reasoned editorial recommendations. Editorial responsibilities are distributed among subject-matter experts to ensure professional and academically rigorous evaluation of submissions within the journal’s scientific scope.
The Scientific Editorial Board comprises internationally recognized experts from universities and research institutions. The Board safeguards the journal’s scientific scope and academic standards, supports its strategic development, and contributes to the continuous improvement of editorial quality and integrity.
The Chair of the Scientific Editorial Board holds independent final decision-making authority regarding manuscript acceptance or rejection and oversees the integrity of editorial decisions in accordance with the journal’s Editorial Independence Policy. The Chair’s authority is structurally separated from operational editorial coordination to ensure objectivity and prevent conflicts of interest.
The Publisher provides technical, administrative, and financial support but does not interfere with editorial decisions, peer-review outcomes, or manuscript evaluations.
All manuscripts submitted to Scifood undergo peer review in accordance with the journal’s peer-review policy and ethical guidelines. Submissions from Editorial Board members, including the Editor-in-Chief or individuals affiliated with the Publisher, are managed under additional safeguards to ensure full transparency, impartiality, and independence of the final decision.
The Editorial Board members represent internationally active researchers whose academic expertise, publication records, and citation activity reflect ongoing engagement in the global scholarly community. Many Board members maintain publication profiles indexed in internationally recognized citation databases, including Scopus and Web of Science, reinforcing the journal’s commitment to academic credibility and scientific excellence.
