Author Guidelines

Scifood welcomes submissions of high-quality original research articles and review papers within the scope of the journal.

All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to evaluate scope relevance, originality, scientific quality, and compliance with ethical standards. Manuscripts that meet these criteria proceed to peer review.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  • the manuscript is original and not under consideration elsewhere,
  • all listed authors meet the authorship criteria and approve the submission,
  • all necessary permissions for third-party materials have been obtained,
  • ethical approval and informed consent have been secured where applicable.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s minimum scientific, ethical, or formal requirements may be rejected without external peer review (desk rejection).

Article Processing Charge (APC)

Scifood is a fully open access journal. No submission fee is charged.

An Article Processing Charge (APC) is requested only after the manuscript has successfully passed the initial editorial assessment (scope relevance, originality, and basic scientific and ethical evaluation). The peer-review process is initiated only after confirmation of APC payment.

Payment of the APC has no influence on editorial decisions, peer-review outcomes, or acceptance or rejection of the manuscript. Editorial decisions are based exclusively on scientific quality, originality, and relevance.

Authors may request an APC waiver or discount during the submission process by providing a justified request in the designated comments field. Waiver requests are evaluated independently of editorial decisions.

Detailed information on APC amounts, waivers, refunds, formatting, structure, and submission requirements is provided in the Instructions for Authors and the mandatory Article Template, which must be followed for all submissions.
